The Regulators- Roleplay Rankings

This is the roleplay rankings for the Regulators.

Hello fellow roleplayers, my name is TheFireMage. Teacake and I will be your leaders in roleplay. To make this easier, TheRegulator and I have considered using a ranking system to gage roleplaying talents and leadership. The Ranking system is being considered as such, from least to greatest.

Roles Leadership
Extra - Actor - Hotshot Moderator - Imagineer - Game Master/GM

Roles- These determine roleplaying skill. The bigger the rank, the bigger the role you can fill.

Everyone will start out at the lowest rank, extra, the only roles open to them are the support insignificant characters, such as a random gang member, or some smalltime outlaw.
Current Extras- RTP Killer, Turtlesniipa

Prove your mettle in roleplaying and you get advanced to actor. Extra is to Initiate as Actor is to journeyman. Actor is fairly easy to get upgraded to, all is needed is a fair amount of roleplaying skill. You get to be more important characters ex. a co leader of a gang, a merchant.

Hotshots posess great roleplaying skills and get to play more famous/important characters. ex. Famous gang leaders, notable sherrifs, real life outlaws.

Leadership- How much influence you get over campaigns. Not everyone gets a leadership rank, only those trustworthy.

Moderators work very much like in online games. Moderators are to make sure rps are going on track and to avoid any out of character chatter.

Imagineers help GMs forge the campaigns and need immense amounts of imagination. They make storylines and such.

GMs are leaders of the roleplaying section of the regulators. They are the last word on campaigns and rps. Current GMs- The Fire Mage, RogueTeacake, TheRegulator, Darkwolf162

It all goes by your progression and ability to stay in-character.

Speaking of which, I was thinking that maybe we could start up a topic where we could "create" our characters...that way, we'd have direction as far as creating campaigns within the game.

Any thoughts on when this'll be started up?

I've been contemplating our role-playing throughout the night, and this is what I have in mind. It seems the general consensus (myself included) wants to finish the main game before we all jump online. This will give us the chance to explore the vast terrain on our own and get accustomed to whatever weapons we want to us. I hope we can have a good variety of types of players (sharpshooters, run and gun types, close-range specialists, etc.) so that we can alter our strategy according to the match (and opposing team).

Once we get online, we'll have a week's period where we'll introduce our characters as the "in-game" character that we've chosen. Then, I'll designate a few people (as per the rankings) to propose and receive campaign ideas from the members. From there, we'll enact them.

I hope we can re-enact some awesome shootouts, maybe even the final shootout from Young Guns! Any ideas for this process, feel free to sling me a message over the PSN or post it up here.

So if using mics, would we have to literally be characters? Like no mention of the real world? Esentially acting as if we only exist in the game world? Talk only about in game current events, hunting, and the hottest prostitutes and so on? Or do you simply mean re-enacting famous events from movies and history. Forgive me, I'm not to familiar with Role playing beyond RPG's (final fantasy, oblivian).

This is something that I have been thinking about. I don't want role-playing to dominate our conversation over the mics, because if we're playing a team deathmatch or a capture-the-gold game, I don't think any of us will really care to stay in character. We could try and see how it works, but I don't want staying-in-character to take away from our concentration in gunfights.

What we could do is set so many days aside for role-playing and so many days for competitive matches, free roam, hunting, etc. That way we can bounce back and forth without mixing role playing with our competitive nature. Again, if we can combine them without it proving to be problematic, awesome. If not, it's no big deal.

That all sounds pretty reasonable. It could be fun to do the role-playing online, but when things get hairy out there, you're right. We need to be on our toes.

Maybe just keep the major role playing in the lobby and the teamwork talk to actual matches?

Well I have not created a campaign yet, but when I do I will post it, I've been waiting till we got closer to release date to launch it.
